Tsunami - Relief update : Aceh is Go

I just came back from Yayasan Salam in PJ to enquire about latest update on the Tsunami Aid in Aceh and the needs and donts of donations.

Good News! Goods delivery to Aceh can now resume as confirmed by personal at the Salam Foundation. I've also got a list of items needed and not needed at the moment.

Items NOT needed : Clothes

Items needed :

1. Dry food items - canned or packed food
2. Baby Milk (formula)
3. Baby disposable diapers
4. Medicines
5. Telekong, sejadah / prayer clothing for women & prayer mats for muslims

so help what we can.

when i was there some 400 boxes of Cap Ayam Sardines and canned food was being unloaded and items loaded into the FedEx lorry to be delivered. Had a chat with the uncle who delivered the goods. We chatted about the need for food and he in his somewhat limited grasp of the Malay language spoke to me about the horror of those abduction of childrens in those affected area. His dissapointment and anger of that incident is clearly relayed and he ask for us to pray to god for protection for these helpless victims.

So let us pray!

oh yes. No need for clothing yet, there's plenty left. For those who want to help you can contact Yayasan Salam at 03-7958 4021 or go to their website at
